Judge, Mark ‘Smart Mark’ Boston

As a native of Philadelphia, PA, Mark’s desire for entertaining began at an early age. Standing at 6′4″, his passion for hip-hop dance grew to stand taller than him and so began his pursuit for happiness. This self-taught dancer’s journey became an exciting one early on with local performances in the Tri-state area such as Welcome America’s July 4th Parade, City Hall’s 100th Anniversary, and Boscov’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. As his talent quickly grew, he also began to develop another passion, acting. Mark’s acting credits include performing at the Wilma Theatre and Prince Music Theatre where he gained a principal role in “From Tha Hip”. Mark also performed in a 3 week sold out show with Chosen Dance, a Philadelphia based hip-hop company, which presented Mark with numerous performance opportunities. These performance opportunities include: BET’s 106th and Park, ESPN’s X-Games VIII, Philadelphia ‘76-ers Halftime Show, Superbowl XL, an NFL Nation Wide Commercial, and MTV’s Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew (Season 2).

Judge, Virgil ‘Lil O’ Gadson

Over the years, Virgil has danced in NFL commercials,  and many venues including MTV’s Randy Jackson’s America’s Best Dance Crew. Virgil has also appeared in music videos and has choreographed musicals. He is an avid student and instructor of Hip Hop dance as he thoroughly incorporates himself into all aspects of the art form. Ranging from outreach programs in South Philadelphia to the University of the Arts in Center City Philadelphia, and classrooms in Bermuda, Virgil has instructed children and adults of all ages and is very involved in his community as well as dance communities abroad. Virgil has competed in Paris representing the United States for the Hip Hop title of “Juste Debout” 2011. Expanding his knowledge and love for dance, Virgil attended University of the Arts and became a graduate of their dance program in 2008. It was at UArts that he was able to integrate other dance forms such as: Modern, Jazz, Ballet and Tap. Though Hip Hop continues to be his main focus, Virgil encourages all of his students to learn and experience all dance styles and their history in order to help them grow and meet their potential in dance and life.
